AtkinsRéalis seeks an energetic Senior Transportation Planner or Engineer in Denver, Colorado to grow our transportation planning practice. The role leads analyses for local municipalities, state DOTs, and federal clients, with emphasis on traffic engineering and multimodal planning.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in transportation planning or traffic engineering, strong analytical skills, and can mentor staff while guiding model development and documentation.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in transportation planning or traffic engineering.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead, deputy PM, or PM for planning and traffic engineering.
• Lead complex analyses including microsimulation and corridor studies.
• Provide technical leadership to junior staff and develop modelling approaches.
• Refine analytical methodologies to ensure rigor and consistency.
• Interpret findings into clear, actionable client recommendations.
• Support proposals, client meetings, and business development efforts.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of analyses and deliverables.
• Engage with clients, agencies and stakeholders on transportation issues.
