Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Denver, CO is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer II to join our Roadway Practice to support the delivery of highway projects. You will plan, design, and produce engineering drawings and may supervise drawing production while contributing to data collection and feasibility studies.

The role requires a BS or MS in engineering, 8+ years of highway/roadway design experience, a Colorado PE, and proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoad Designer; AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS and/or MS in Engineering.
• 8+ years of engineering experience.
• Must have highway/roadway design.
• Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license required; additional state PE recommended but not required.
• MicroStation and OpenRoad Designer experience required.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Performs and assists in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings. May supervise the production of these drawings.
• Participates in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks.
• Participates on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications and assisting in recordkeeping and reports.
• Performs data acquisition and analysis, researching design feasibility and site conditions.
• Prepares material for reports and permit applications, gathering information and preparing work progression documents and graphics.
• Performs engineering calculations and field observations of construction as needed.
