Job summary

Confidential seeks a Senior Operations Manager in the Greater Lowell area to lead a large field workforce across multiple facilities and vehicles. You will oversee an Assistant Operations Manager and Transportation Coordinators, driving safety, reliability, and strong client service.

The role demands 7+ years in operations leadership within transportation or logistics, with a proven track record of managing managers and ensuring compliance, staffing, and operational metrics.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of operations management experience, ideally in transportation, fleet, logistics, or another environment with a large field workforce.
• Proven ability to lead managers and supervisors in a high-volume operation.
• Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills, with experience managing client or stakeholder relationships.
• Detail-oriented, with a high standard of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Familiarity with local roads, distances, and travel times in the Merrimack Valley area is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for school district partners, building strong, lasting relationships
• Lead and reinforce a safety-first culture across all operations
• Review key operational metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and act on the results
• Interview, hire, and train Transportation Coordinators and Supervisors, and develop a pipeline of internal talent for advancement
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels for drivers and monitors, and prepare monthly work schedules
• Ensure all employees hold proper certifications, training, and licensing
• Oversee vehicle maintenance so the fleet remains in a high state of readiness
• Review and prepare monthly billing and payroll
• Serve as the primary contact for outside vendors
