Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Sr. Manager, Transportation to lead safety, service, and cost targets across the Plainfield IL DC. You will oversee managers and drivers, drive cost-effective delivery operations, and ensure regulatory compliance while onboarding at the Aurora IL DC.

This role requires a strong safety mindset, people leadership, and the ability to optimize production flows. A college degree is preferred and travel is limited.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in transportation/delivery supervision.
• Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.
• Ability to interpret DOT, inventory control, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Achieve safety, service, and cost targets in Transportation; lead with a safety mindset.
• Oversee and develop Transportation Managers through coaching and policy training.
• Oversee drivers; develop plans to address gaps and drive engagement.
• Build high-performing teams; review staffing and conduct performance reviews.
• Ensure on-time, accurate deliveries and adherence to DOT regulations.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and improve delivery processes.
• Support HR and VP Operations in union environments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
