Job summary

Mead & Hunt seeks a Mid-Level Construction Inspector for SCDOT projects in South Carolina. The role focuses on inspection of transportation construction to ensure conformity with plans and specs, with duties including measurements, calculations, and as-built documentation.

The ideal candidate holds four certifications plus a degree/experience path; travel across SC is required and extended hours may apply. Compensation includes robust benefits and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Requires at least four applicable certifications and one of the degree/experience paths.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree with required years; or eight years of experience without a degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection services for transportation construction projects.
• Ensure work and materials comply with plans, specs, and proposals.
• Take measurements, perform calculations, and prepare as-builts during progress.
• Document inspected work daily; travel statewide; heavy lifting may be required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field + four years relevant experience

Associate degree in construction management or related field + six years relevant experience

If no degree, at least eight years of relevant experience
