Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking a mid-level Construction Inspector to support SCDOT projects in South Carolina. The role involves inspection of transportation construction, documenting daily work, and ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and proposals.

Strong field and testing experience, plus a valid driver’s license, are essential. The candidate will hold multiple SCDOT certifications and a related degree, with travel across the state and occasional long hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field plus four years relevant experience.
• SCDOT construction inspection and materials testing certifications; working knowledge of SCDOT standards, specifications, and material testing procedures.
• SCDOT Foundations Certification required.
• Additional SCDOT certifications and CEPSCI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection services for transportation construction projects.
• Perform calculations, take measurements, verify weights and volumes.
• Plot cross sections and prepare as-builts during progress of the project.
• Perform materials testing and document inspected work daily.

Education
