Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Construction Inspector for SCDOT projects in South Carolina. The role requires inspecting transportation construction work, verifying plans, and performing materials testing, with daily documentation of inspections.

Ideal candidates will hold relevant construction management certifications or degrees and be willing to travel regionally, including overnight stays. The position offers an employee-owned firm with strong benefits and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field.
• Associate’s Degree in Construction Management or related field AND two years of relevant experience.
• If no degree, at least four years of relevant experience.
• SCDOT construction inspection and materials testing certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection services for transportation construction projects.
• Ensure all work and materials comply with proposal, plans, and specifications.
• Perform calculations, take measurements, and verify weights and volumes.
• Conduct materials testing.
• Document inspected work daily.
• Travel to Pee Dee Region / SCDOT District 5; valid driver’s license required.
