Job summary

Boutique Recruiting is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead traffic, parking, planning, and impact analysis across Northern California in a hybrid role. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of relevant experience, strong communication, and a leadership mindset to mentor staff and manage multiple priorities.

The role blends technical oversight with project management, client relations, and business development, with salary in the $135,000–$175,000 range depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, or related field.
• 10+ years in traffic operations, transportation planning, or transportation engineering.
• Must reside in California and be authorized to work in the United States.
• Direct transportation industry experience and strong project/client management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee traffic, parking, transportation planning, and impact analysis studies.
• Manage about 12 active projects concurrently and ensure on-schedule, on-budget delivery.
• Serve as primary client contact, maintaining scope and requirements.
• Review work in Synchro, HCM, and related platforms; apply TIA and Caltrans standards.
• Attend hearings and meetings across Northern California; support business development.
• Mentor and train about seven team members; balance multiple priorities.
