Qualifications
- 8 years of drafting, design, and plan preparation experience.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive a state vehicle.
- Safety Impact Certificate.
- Advanced and specialized design/drafting procedures.
- Reading and interpreting plans, schematics, blueprints and maps.
- Ability to monitor project status and progress.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced and specialized design work.
- Perform drafting and calculations; develop presentations for designs.
- Prepare roadway design, traffic control, lighting, signals and building plans.
- Review plans for drafting errors and ensure consistency with specs.
- Train less experienced technicians and support project teams.
- Use automated design tools for bridge/culvert detailing and geometry.
- Coordinate scheduling and allocate resources to meet objectives.
