Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Laredo is seeking Transportation Specialist I/II to support design, project development, and construction oversight. You will contribute to design calculations, plan preparation, and coordination with consultants and contractors on district projects.

The role requires a driver’s license, experience in transportation design, and the ability to work full-time in a on-site setting at the Laredo District Headquarters.

Qualifications

• 2 years transportation design, construction, traffic operations, maintenance, or bridge inspection experience.
• Valid US driver’s license at time of application; this position requires driving a state vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and coordination for transportation programs involving design and/or building construction projects and related transportation systems.
• Coordinate and perform inspections to identify deficiencies and ensure plan packages meet review and signature requirements.
• Assist with project planning and development of policies and procedures within area of responsibility.
• Perform duties independently with supervisor consulted for unusual issues.
