Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Consultant, Architect for its New York City office, joining the Transportation Facilities Group. The role focuses on design leadership for rail, bus, airports, and related facilities, serving major clients like NYCT and Amtrak in a dynamic NY Metro setting.

The position offers exposure to varied project types, advancement opportunities, and a collaborative work environment with a strong emphasis on codes, standards, and quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Arts/ Science in Architecture with a Masters in Architecture
• 5 to 7 years of post-education experience in architecture; transportation experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of construction drawing standards and building codes
• Solid understanding of architectural tools (AutoCAD, REVIT, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite)
• Excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail and highly organized
• Self-starter, able to work independently and able to multi-task
• The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Responsibilities

• Leading design teams, discipline coordination, review of architectural designs and code compliance
• Overseeing the development of construction documents, including specifications for renovations and new construction of transportation type facilities
• Leading technical proposals and business development activities
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
