Job summary

WSP USA in New York City invites an Architect/Consultant to join its Transportation Facilities Group. Work on designs for rail stations, airports, and transportation hubs under supervision of a senior architect.

This position offers exposure to NYCT, MTA, LIRR, and other agencies, with diverse project types across NY Metro Region. You will develop drawings, ensure code compliance, and coordinate with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture or BA/BS in Architecture with a Masters in Architecture.
• 3–5 years of relevant post-education experience; transportation experience is a plus.
• Understanding of NY State and NYC Building Codes.
• Knowledge of construction drawing standards.
• Solid understanding of architectural tools (AutoCAD, REVIT, SketchUp, Microstation, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail and highly organized.
• Self-starter, able to work independently and able to multi-task.
• Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
• The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and policies.

Responsibilities

• Development of Architectural drawings and specifications including renderings and presentation boards;
• Code compliance for new construction and renovations of transportation related facilities;
• Perform local and/or regional site inspections/investigations of projects
• Attend meetings
• Project Coordination
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
