Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking an experienced operations research/analytics professional to formulate advanced models, collect and analyze data, and develop decision support tools to inform management.

You will work at a FedEx Freight location in Harrison, AR or Memphis, TN, collaborating with senior leadership on optimization projects and presenting findings. A master's in a quantitative field with several years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in industrial engineering, math/statistics, or related field, or a bachelor's with 2 years experience.
• Five years of experience in engineering, statistics, forecasting, or data analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Spotfire).
• Advanced knowledge of Azure cloud services and Databricks ML models.
• Advanced descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive modeling knowledge.
• Intermediate programming skills: Java, SQL, SAS.
• Relational databases: Oracle, DB2, Teradata.
• Strong computer skills: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint; statistics software; data mining; visualization.
• Leadership, analytical, problem solving, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to model operational problems and assess feasibility and impact.
• Develop business plans and present to senior management with recommendations.
• Lead evaluation of alternative systems or networks using models.
• Develop data collection systems and visualize trends in complex data.
• Research new technologies and design models for testing strategic proposals.
• Prepare decision analyses and reports for senior management.
• Present analyses using multimedia formats.
• Coordinate project personnel administratively and technically.
• Provide mentoring to other operations research professionals.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
