Job summary

Welty Energy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead transmission and substation projects from 69kV to 765kV. The role emphasizes planning, coordination, and mentoring junior staff, with travel to PA/NJ areas as required.

The ideal candidate has 10–15 years of electric utility PM experience, PMP preferred, and strong leadership and communication skills. This remote role requires frequent client interaction and coordination across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent years of experience in electric utility project management.
• Minimum of 10-15 years plus experience in project management, planning or similar for the Electric Utility sector specializing in high voltage (Sub and TX).
• Electric utility project management preferred.
• PMP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with all applicable stakeholders on your project to ensure communication across the lines throughout the life cycle.
• Act as the primary point of contact with the client regarding your project.
• Conduct technical reviews of specifications, drawings, contracts, addenda, and other construction documents to ensure constructability with client standards and specifications.
• Conduct and direct project planning and status meetings to ensure schedule and financial adherence.
• Provide schedule updates of the engineering, construction, and budget status of each project to management teams.
• Oversee and coordinate construction package reviews, pre-award meetings, field visits, and pre-award site walk-downs.
• Act as the single point of contact for Construction on submittals and coordination of required project information.
• Ensure that outages are identified, submitted, and communicated timely to avoid schedule interruptions.
• Ensure permits are obtained for all fieldwork and approvals secured from applicable parties.
• Assist the Portfolio Manager with coordination, preparation, and reporting of significant activities on construction projects and programs.
