Job summary

NewEdge Power is seeking a senior transmission planning professional to lead complex power flow studies, ATC screening, and interconnection assessments across the U.S. You will coordinate with RTOs, utilities, and external consultants to optimize portfolio development.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in transmission planning, experience with renewable projects, and strong skills in Powerworld, PSLF, PSS/E, and PSCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field; master’s degree desirable.
• Five+ years of transmission and generation planning experience at RTO or utility.
• Minimum three years working for a renewable energy developer.
• Proficiency in power flow software (Powerworld, PSLF, and PSS/E).
• Familiar with generator interconnection procedures in PJM, MISO, ERCOT, NYISO and CAISO.

Responsibilities

• Analyze power flow results and compare consultant and utility outputs.
• Screen ATC areas to identify interconnection positions with lowest upgrade cost.
• Track transmission expansion plans at RTO stakeholder meetings.
• Direct and manage external consultants for power flow studies.
• Determine LMP differentials and project site economics.
• Communicate findings to executives and cross-functional teams.
