Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Transmission Siting and Permitting Project Manager to support a growing portfolio of energy projects in PA, NJ, or MD. The role blends technical siting work with leadership of multidisciplinary teams and client interaction.

Ideal candidates have a strong environmental permitting background, 10+ years in energy infrastructure, and excellent communication skills for proposals, pricing, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, biology, natural sciences or ecology, environmental planning, environmental science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of experience managing environmental permitting and planning projects for energy-related infrastructure.
• Ability to lead project teams and provide leadership and guidance.
• Strong communication with clients, agencies, and colleagues at all levels.
• Experience preparing proposals, presentations, and project pricing structures.
• Willingness to travel occasionally based on project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as siting and environmental permitting subject matter expert for electric transmission, substations, and renewable energy projects.
• Manage routing and siting studies, analyses, and technical reports.
• Provide technical oversight for environmental permitting and planning across project phases.
• Develop strategies for public involvement programs, including open houses and hearings.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and mentor staff.
