Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Lead Transmission Siting and Permitting Project Manager to support a portfolio of energy projects in PA/NJ/MD. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee routing and environmental permitting, and mentor staff while maintaining technical engagement with project work.

The role focuses on project management, client interaction, and growth of the transmission siting and permitting practice within a collaborative Earth & Environment team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, biology, natural sciences or ecology, environmental planning, environmental science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of experience managing environmental permitting and planning projects for energy-related infrastructure
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while providing leadership and guidance to project teams
• Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills with clients, agencies, and colleagues at all levels
• Experience preparing proposals, presentations, and project pricing structures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including defining and managing client requirements and expectations

Responsibilities

• Serve as a siting and environmental permitting subject matter expert for electric transmission, substations, and renewable energy projects
• Manage and direct routing and siting studies, analyses, and associated technical reports
• Provide technical oversight for environmental permitting and planning activities across multiple project phases
• Develop strategies for public involvement programs, including public meetings and hearings
• Apply professional judgment to evaluate field observations, data, and regulatory requirements to develop defensible solutions
• Maintain familiarity with state/regional regulatory frameworks and coordinate with agencies
