Jacobs is seeking a P&C Engineer – Transmission to lead and support protection and control studies for transmission and substation projects across North America. You will apply protection philosophy, configure relays, and coordinate schemes using tools such as ASPEN OneLiner and PSS CAPE, collaborating with global teams and clients.
The role requires a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of experience and travel ability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering required.
- 7+ years direct experience in protection and control.
- Experience with protection studies software such as ASPEN OneLiner and PSS CAPE.
- Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and CIGRE standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and apply protection and control study methods for transmission and substations.
- Perform protection coordination, PT/CT sizing, TCC curves, and relay coordination.
- Conduct protection philosophy, basis of design, and fault studies.
- Ensure conformance with IEEE and NERC standards and industry best practices.
- Use ASPEN OneLiner, PSS CAPE, PSCAD, or PSS/E for studies.
- Collaborate with North America and global teams.
- Engage with clients including renewable developers, utilities, and ISOs/RTOs.
- Participate in relevant IEEE or CIGRE technical committees.
