Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a P&C Engineer – Transmission to lead protection and control studies for transmission and substation projects. You will collaborate with regional and global teams, support business development, and deliver technical work for renewable developers, utilities and ISOs/RTOs.

The role requires experience with ASPEN OneLiner and PSS CAPE, familiarity with IEEE, IEC and CIGRE standards, and travel across North America. A PE or PEng license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 7 years of direct experience with protection and control related projects.
• Experience with protection studies software such as ASPEN OneLiner and PSS CAPE.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and CIGRE standards.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a focus on results.
• Team player with strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel within North America.

Responsibilities

• Advanced protection relaying knowledge including line, transformer, breaker failure and cap bank protection.
• Conduct protection and control studies including protection philosophy and fault studies.
• Perform protection coordination, PT/CT sizing and relay coordination analyses.
• Familiar with IEEE, IEC and CIGRE standards and guidelines.
• Utilize ASPEN OneLiner, PSS CAPE and similar tools for studies.
• Collaborate with North America and global teams to deliver projects on time and on budget.
