Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a P&C Engineer – Transmission to work with regional and global teams on protection and control for transmission and substations. You'll apply planning philosophy, safety, and design standards on projects for renewable developers, utilities, and ISOs/RTOs.

Requirements include a bachelor’s in electrical engineering and at least 7 years in protection and control, plus experience with ASPEN OneLiner and PSS CAPE. Travel across North America is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Minimum 7 years of direct experience with protection and control projects.
Experience with protection studies software such as ASPEN OneLiner and PSS CAPE.
Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and CIGRE standards.
Willingness to travel within North America.

Responsibilities

Protection relaying across lines, transformers, breaker failure, and differential schemes.
Perform protection and control studies: philosophy, basis of design, fault studies.
Conduct P&C studies: coordination, PT/CT sizing, TCC curves.
Follow IEEE and CIGRE standards.
Collaborate with North America and global teams and clients.
Support on-time, on-budget project delivery.
Participate in related technical committees.
