Job summary

JCW Group is seeking an experienced transmission planning engineer to lead and contribute to complex grid studies across multiple utility clients. The role requires strong expertise in steady-state, transient, and dynamic analyses to verify system adequacy and compliance with planning standards.

The ideal candidate will mentor junior engineers, review planning reports and study results, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on interconnections and NERC initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and active PE license.
• 8-12 years of transmission planning experience in utility or consulting.
• Proficient in power system analysis tools (PSS/E, TARA, PSLF, PowerWorld) and familiar with FERC/NERC standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to complex transmission planning projects across utility clients and regions.
• Perform steady-state, transient, and dynamic analysis to ensure system adequacy and compliance with planning standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on system upgrades, new interconnections, and NERC initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical review of planning reports and study results.
