Job summary

Oncor Electric Delivery seeks a Transmission Planning Engineer to perform studies of the transmission system, develop plans, and ensure compliance with NERC and ERCOT standards. Hybrid role based in Fort Worth with office days required.

The role requires knowledge of dynamic stability, steady-state power flow, EMT analyses, and experience with PSSE, PSCAD, ASPEN, and Python tools. Strong collaboration and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with Oncor transmission system and ERCOT practices encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with PSSE, ASPEN, PSCAD and Python tools encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Conduct studies in support of system reliability: steady-state, transient stability, transfer capability, short circuit, and EMT analyses.
• Provide technical support via detailed studies, reports, and meetings.
• Collaborate with departments to identify needs and improve system reliability.
• Develop and maintain dynamic stability models for load, under/overvoltage schemes, and dynamic reactive devices.
• Support compliance with NERC/ERCOT Geomagnetic Disturbance standards.
• Contribute to transmission plans and ERCOT Regional Planning Group submittals.
• Ensure compliance with NERC, FERC, and ERCOT requirements with proper documentation.
• Build relationships with ERCOT staff and other stakeholders to address issues.
• Participate in ERCOT and NERC working groups and task forces.
• Perform all essential job functions and other duties as required.
