Wind Energy Transmission Texas, LLC seeks a Sr. Transmission Planning Engineer to lead planning studies for system upgrades and interconnections in Texas.

You’ll engage with ERCOT and other utilities, support capital decisions, and ensure compliance with NERC, ERCOT, FERC, TRE standards. The role requires a BSEE and 6+ years in transmission planning, proficiency with PSSE, PowerWorld, ASPEN, and TARA, and strong communication skills.

Formación

• BSEE from accredited university required.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in transmission planning.
• Expert level skills with PSSE, TARA, PowerWorld and ASPEN.
• Knowledge of NERC, FERC, and ERCOT standards.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and projects.
• Strong problem-solving and independent thinking abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Provide engineering and analytical expertise to improve reliability and ensure compliance with planning requirements.
• Lead development opportunities through transmission planning analyses and collaboration with utilities.
• Perform transmission planning analyses (Steady State, Short Circuit, Stability) for annual planning and development of the system.
• Manage Transmission Expansion, Generation Interconnection, and Large Load Interconnection projects.
• Represent WETT in ERCOT working groups and stakeholder meetings; ensure proper modeling in cases.
• Review Planning Procedures to ensure compliance with standards and protocols.
• Collaborate with internal departments, ERCOT, utilities, developers, and consultants on projects.
