Job summary

1898 & Co. in Atlanta is seeking a Transmission Planning Consultant to advance electric grid reliability and renewable integration. You will perform advanced transmission studies and provide high‑quality technical and economic analysis for diverse clients.

You will use industry tools like PSS/E, PSLF, EMT P/ATP, PSCAD, SKM, ETAP and Promod; evaluate regulatory requirements; develop life‑cycle cost assumptions; and prepare technical reports and client deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelors from ABET-accredited program with 3+ years of experience, or higher degrees with proportionate experience.
• Experience with electric utility operations, planning or consulting.
• Knowledge of NERC, FERC and regional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate regulatory conditions and risks per NERC, FERC and regional requirements.
• Independently execute transmission planning studies using industry software.
• Analyze engineering and economic data to inform client decisions.
• Develop life-cycle cost assumptions including O&M and capital costs.
• Prepare technical reports and client-ready presentations.
• Support project managers with deliverables and business development.
