Job summary

RWE Supply & Trading Americas, LLC in Austin, TX is seeking a (Senior) Transmission Manager to lead transmission analysis and interconnection studies in PJM and/or MISO. This role focuses on advancing greenfield development, guiding technical studies, and supporting the interconnection process with our team.

The candidate will bring strong power-flow analysis skills, experience in transmission or interconnection studies, and the ability to translate results into actionable project insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical power systems; at least 3 years in generation interconnection.
• Strong knowledge of transmission planning, power flow analysis, and interconnection processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform system-wide transmission analysis to identify and prioritize development in low-cost, high-capacity grid areas.
• Lead interconnection applications and queue positions during cluster study phases in PJM and/or MISO.
• Analyze ISO interconnection study reports to identify errors and cost-saving opportunities.
• Support congestion and deliverability screening, including ILTTR, FTR, TSR, basis-risk, and other analyses.
• Conduct power flow analysis to support project development and M&A evaluations.
• Participate in ISO stakeholder processes and meetings to stay aligned with queue reforms.
• Develop, maintain, or support automation scripts and repeatable workflows for model processing, data analysis, quality checks, and reporting.
