Energi Connect is seeking a Sr. Manager, Transmission & Interconnection in Houston, TX.

This hybrid role leads interconnection strategy, coordinates studies, and interfaces with transmission providers, ISOs/RTOs, and utilities to move PV & BESS projects through ISO/RTO processes. The role requires guiding a team of engineers, managing project lifecycle from application to operation, and ensuring alignment with development objectives in multiple markets.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years in transmission, interconnection, or utility-scale renewable energy.
• Familiarity with ISO/RTO regions such as WECC, CAISO, MISO, PJM.
• Strong understanding of interconnection processes and wholesale markets.
• Demonstrated leadership capability and experience managing technical teams.
• Proficiency with power flow and cost modeling tools.

Sr. Manager, Transmission & Interconnection

Location: Houston TX - Hybrid

Position Overview

This position leads the interconnection function for a large renewable energy developer/IPP focused on PV & BESS projects in a number of key US markets. The role ensures that all generation and storage projects advance through ISO/RTO and utility interconnection processes efficiently, strategically, and in alignment with commercial and development objectives.

Strategic Interconnection Leadership

• Define and execute the organization’s interconnection strategy across multiple markets.
• Maintain oversight of all queue positions, study progress, and interconnection-related risks.
• Serve as the primary technical interface with transmission providers, ISOs/RTOs, and utilities.

Operational Execution

• Direct the full lifecycle of interconnection activities - from initial application through commercial operation
• Manage submissions, deposits, milestone tracking, and compliance with study and agreement requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure timely advancement through feasibility, system impact, and facilities studies.

Technical Stewardship

• Guide development of steady-state, dynamic, and EMT/PSCAD models for project studies
• Review and interpret power flow, stability, and cost modeling outputs using industry tools
• Provide technical support to development, engineering, commercial, and M&A teams
• Lead and mentor a team of Interconnection Engineers and technical specialists
• Establish processes, standards, and best practices for interconnection management
• Promote cross-functional alignment between interconnection, development, engineering, and project delivery

Agreement & Stakeholder Management

• Negotiate interconnection agreements and ensure all contractual obligations are met
• Represent the company in technical stakeholder groups, committees, and working sessions across relevant transmission regions.
