Grid United is seeking a Transmission & Interconnection Manager/Sr. Manager in Houston or remote to lead transmission planning analyses and interconnection strategy for greenfield projects. You will guide feasibility studies, model development, and coordination with ISO/RTOs, utilities, and internal teams.

You will manage a portfolio of interconnection efforts, mentor engineers, and drive cost-efficient solutions while navigating tariff rules and regulatory requirements across regions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in transmission planning, interconnection, or related service.
• Experience filing/managing interconnection with developers/utilities/ISO/RTOs.
• Proficiency with at least one grid analytics tool (PSS/E, PSLF, etc.).
• Knowledge of multiple ISO/RTO tariffs and regional planning criteria.

Responsabilités

• Lead internal transmission planning studies (power flow, N-1, short circuit, voltage analyses).
• Develop and maintain study cases and transmission models across portfolios.
• Prepare and manage interconnection requests and study agreements.
• Own interconnection tracker milestones, payments, and queue timelines.
• Serve as technical contact with utilities, ISO/RTO staff; lead meetings.
• Validate study results and suggest mitigations to reduce cost/schedule risk.
• Evaluate network upgrade costs and restudy risk; advise on queue strategy.
• Support interconnection agreements and related contracts with Legal/Commercial.
• Interpret tariffs and planning criteria; monitor tariff reforms.
• Coordinate with HVDC engineering to validate models.
