Job summary

Qualus Corporation seeks a Senior Protection and Controls Engineer to advance protective relaying, device settings, and philosophy development. You will lead substation protection schemes, analyze disturbances, and deliver robust solutions while coordinating with clients and construction teams.

Ideal candidates have 8–10 years of experience in power systems protection, a PE license or significant experience without PE, and strong analytical and communication skills to support project success.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with 8–10 years of industry experience and PE license or 10 years without PE.
• Knowledge of electric utility system protection principles and company protection philosophies.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, with effective time management.

Responsibilities

• Completes relay coordination analyses and determines settings for substation projects.
• Leads development of company system protection philosophy and design of schemes.
• Performs studies, prepares reports for management and customers.
• Develops state-of-the-art protection solutions for complex power system issues.
• Ensures quality control and coordinates with construction forces and customers.
