Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Principal Transmission Line Engineer to lead HV transmission line projects across Power and Renewables. You will design and coordinate with PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE, develop construction documents, and serve as a primary client-facing SME to grow the team's capabilities.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to bids, and help improve internal design standards; a PE license and extensive experience in transmission line engineering are required. Remote US work is available.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited school; Master’s preferred.
20+ years of transmission line engineering experience preferred.
PE license required; multi-state licensure preferred.
SE license preferred.
Expert in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE; ability to train others.
Extensive knowledge of transmission line design: routing, engineering, design, structural analysis, clearances.
Experience with utility clients and proven client-relations track record.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and project coordination skills.
Proficiency with MS Office and AutoCAD; MFAD/LPILE preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage high voltage transmission line projects (69kV-500kV).
Design coordination and development of construction documents; ensure QC and client requirements.
Coordinate design aspects, estimate construction costs, specify materials.
Serve as client liaison to determine project scope and requirements.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to proposals and internal standards.
