Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Sr. Transmission Line Engineer to lead overhead transmission line projects across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Florida with remote flexibility.

You will act as a client technical lead, expanding relationships and guiding design and QA/QC for utility-scale assets. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of OH transmission line experience, PE licensure, and strong proficiency with PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE, MFAD and L-Pile.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in overhead transmission line projects with QA/QC.
• Expertise with Power Line Systems software (PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE), MFAD and L-Pile.
• P.E. registration is required; PLS-TOWER experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as the responsible engineer and client point of contact for power delivery projects.
• Increase the volume of overhead line work with existing clients.
• Assist in marketing, promotion and business development to add regional clients.
• Prepare, review, and seal technical calculation reports and construction documents meeting NV5 requirements.
• Assist in routing and design of overhead transmission lines using industry-standard tools.
• Support the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs and technical documentation.
• Participate in field visits to collect data and support construction activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Contribute to project planning, cost estimation and proposal preparation.
• Maintain organized records of project decisions and communications.
• Structure analysis and foundation design.
• Develop design criteria and specifications.
• Mentor junior staff and enable peer-learning.
