Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to work on electric transmission design projects for HV overhead and underground systems (46kV–345 kV). The role involves applying NESC, ASCE, ACI/other standards, performing analyses, and preparing bidding materials, plans, and procurement documents as part of a multi-person Leidos team.

This remote-capable role requires strong communication with clients and internal teams, ability to work independently, and occasional travel to client sites

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and at least eight years of relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems
• Experience in reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals

Responsibilities

• Engineer HV overhead and underground transmission line designs from 46kV to 345 kV
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, and material procurement/construction documents
• Interface with clients and project teams; travel to site as needed
