Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on electric transmission projects from 46kV to 345 kV. Responsibilities include applying standards, developing designs for HV overhead and underground systems, and preparing bidding and construction documents.

The role involves working with clients and cross-functional teams, managing project scopes and proposals, and occasional travel to client sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; eight+ years in electric utility transmission design.
Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, and construction packages.
Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, ASCE code requirements; procurement processes; project schedules; and construction work packages.
Ability to develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
Ability to work in teams and independently; strong client communication.
Travel may be required to client sites.

Responsibilities

Apply NESC, ASCE, ACI and other standards in overhead system design.
Prepare bidding documents, plans and specifications.
Prepare material procurement and construction documents.
Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
Support multi-person Leidos team on HV transmission projects.
