Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to design high‑voltage transmission projects (46kV–345kV) for an electric utility. You will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI standards, review designs and prepare bidding documents, plans, and construction packages while coordinating with a multi‑discipline Leidos team and client personnel.

The role requires extensive HV experience, ability to travel, and strong communication skills to develop scopes and proposals.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems
Experience in reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages
Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages.
Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
Ability to work effectively in team environment but also able to work independently
Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams
Work in client office is a possibility and/or periodic travel may be required
Program Expertise: PLS-CADD and POLE, LPILE or FAD Tools, Microsoft Office

Responsabilités

Design and engineer HV transmission line projects from 46kV to 345 kV.
Apply applicable standards (NESC, ASCE, ACI) in overhead and underground systems.
Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, and procurement/construction documents.
Interface with clients, planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
Travel to client sites as needed for project support.
