Job summary

Sargent & Lundy LLC. is seeking an experienced transmission line engineer for a hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence in Peachtree Corners, GA. You will design lines from 69kV to 500kV and lead a small project team.

The role emphasizes cost analyses, criteria development, and coordination with vendors and clients. Mentorship and client interaction are key parts of the position, with some travel for site visits.

Qualifications

• Degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD to review transmission line models.
• 7+ years on projects with design, cost estimates, scheduling and procurement specs.
• Knowledge to review ROW requirements, conductor sags/tensions, and construction docs.
• Familiarity with design codes such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range.
• Perform cost analyses and develop design criteria, routing and siting.
• Lead conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding and induction studies.
• Collaborate with vendors and clients to specify line components.
• Direct a small project team.
• Mentor less experienced staff and interact with clients.
• Occasional travel for site visits and meetings.
• Develop proposals and cost estimates for new work.
