Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced transmission line engineer to design lines from 69kV to 500kV, evaluate costs, and develop criteria for routing and siting. Qualifications

• BS degree from ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software to review transmission line models.
• 7+ years of experience on transmission projects including design, cost estimates, scheduling and procurement.
• Knowledge of right-of-way requirements, conductor sags/tensions, drawings and construction documents.
• Familiarity with design codes such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range.
• Perform cost analyses and develop design criteria, routing and siting.
• Conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding and induction studies.
• Work with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components.
• Travel for site visits and client meetings.
• Develop proposals and cost estimates for new work.
