Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced transmission design engineer to lead and execute designs for 69kV–500kV projects in the United States. The role includes mentoring team members, coordinating with clients, and delivering robust design packages in line with client specifications and S&L standards.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days, plus a relocation package dependent on location.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering program required.
• 12+ years of transmission design experience.
• Experience with 69 kV–500 kV transmission lines.
• Ability to prepare scopes of work, design basis, equipment selection, calculations and specs.
• Experience working with clients on transmission lines.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI.
• Experience reviewing design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines from 69kV to 500kV.
• Mentor and train design team members.
• Coordinate design activities to meet specs and client requirements.
• Prepare reports and studies with clear technical information in SL formats.
• Review others' design calculations and models in PLS-CADD.
• Adhere to Sargent & Lundy's System of Processes.
• Hybrid work: three days in office, two remote.
