Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Transmission Design Engineer to design 69kV–500kV transmission lines, mentor colleagues, and coordinate design activities to meet client specifications and industry codes.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement (three days in the office, two days remote) and a relocation package may be provided depending on location. Fluency in English and Spanish is required, along with a BS from an ABET-accredited program and extensive PLS-CADD experience.

Qualifications

• BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 12+ years of transmission design experience.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
• Experience with design scopes, concepts, equipment selection, calculations and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range.
• Mentor and train less experienced design team members.
• Coordinate design activities to ensure installation and operations comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information per client requirements and S&L formats.
• Perform independent reviews of work including calculations, drawings, and CADD models.
• Adhere to Sargent & Lundy's System of Processes.
