Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States is seeking a senior transmission design engineer to lead high-voltage line projects from 69kV to 500kV. The role combines technical leadership with client-facing collaboration and ensures designs meet codes and project specs.

The position offers hybrid work with three days in the office and two remotely, plus a relocation package depending on location, and a comprehensive benefits package. A BS from ABET program and 12+ years in design are required.

Qualifications

• BS degree from ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 12+ years of transmission design experience.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
• Experience must include scopes of work, conceptual designs, design basis, equipment/material selection, and calculations/specifications.
• Experience with 69kV–500kV transmission lines and client interaction.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI.
• Experience reviewing designs from others.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines from 69kV to 500kV.
• Mentor and train design team members.
• Coordinate design activities to meet specifications, codes, and client requirements.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information clearly for clients and formats.
• Perform independent reviews of work including calculations, drawings, and PLS-CADD models.
• Adhere to Sargent & Lundy System of Processes.
