Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to design lines from 69kV to 500kV, lead project teams, and collaborate with clients and vendors in a hybrid work setting in the United States. The role requires a degree from an ABET-accredited program and 7+ years of applicable experience, with proficiency in PLS-CADD and code knowledge (NESC/IEEE, etc.).

Relocation support is available depending on location.

Qualifications

• This degree must be from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD to review transmission line models.
• 7+ years of project team experience managing schedules and budgets for diverse transmission assignments.
• Knowledge to verify right of way, conductor sag/tension, and construction documents.
• Familiarity with design codes and standards (NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318).
• MS Office proficiency and strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range.
• Cost analyses, development of design criteria, routing and siting of transmission lines.
• Conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding and induction studies.
• Work with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components.
• Direct a small project team.
• Develop proposals and cost estimates for new work.
• Occasional travel for site visits and client meetings.
