Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Transmission Line Design Engineer to contribute to the design and delivery of high-quality transmission solutions for major utility clients. The role emphasizes on-site collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring constructible designs and adherence to industry standards, while growing technical proficiency and career progression.

The position is on-site at client offices in Rochester or Binghamton, NY, with full-time responsibilities and a strong culture

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of transmission line design experience in utility or power delivery environments.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
• Experience with PLS-CADD or similar design software.

Responsibilities

• Provide transmission line design and engineering consulting services to major power and energy clients.
• Design electrical transmission facilities including line layout, foundations, structure configuration, and conductor specifications.
• Prepare project specifications for materials and equipment purchase and installation.
• Deliver substations and control houses designs that meet industry standards and good engineering practice with constructability.
• Coordinate design activities with multi-disciplinary project teams and maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors.
