Job summary

WSP is seeking an Intermediate Transmission Line Design Engineer to support major utility and energy clients on high-impact power and infrastructure projects. You will help lead transmission line design efforts, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and deliver high-quality, constructible solutions that support critical energy needs.

This role is fully on-site at client sites in Rochester, NY, Buffalo, NY or Binghamton, NY, and candidates must be able to work on-site daily.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related field
• Minimum 1+ year post-education experience in Transmission Line Design up to 115 kV HVAC
• Knowledge of NESC, AISC, IEEE and ANSI codes
• Experience with FEA modeling in PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER; MFAD, HFAD, LPILE; AutoCAD and MicroStation; PSCAD is a plus
• Ability to work full-time on-site at the client office in Rochester or Binghamton, NY

Responsibilities

• Review/Design transmission line plans using PLS-CADD to ensure compliance with standards
• Structure recommendations and line design: plans, profiles and cross sections
• Lead overall transmission line design for capital projects
• Plan routing to optimize design, reliability and ROW usage
• Coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines
• Deliver design packages on time with quality and QA/QC
• Support project management and client communication
