Job summary

WSP Global Inc. seeks an Intermediate Transmission Line Design Engineer to support major utility projects. The role involves leading line design, collaborating across disciplines, and delivering constructible solutions. This position is fully on-site at client sites in Rochester, Buffalo, or Binghamton, NY.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years of post-education experience in transmission line design, proficiency with PLS-CADD, and knowledge of NESC/IEEE/AISC standards. Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related field.
• 1+ years post-education experience, preferably in Transmission Line Design up to 115 kV HVAC.
• Knowledge of NESC, AISC, IEEE and ANSI codes/standards.
• Experience with PLS-CADD, POLE, and TOWER; familiarity with MFAD, HFAD, LPILE, AutoCAD, MicroStation; PSCAD is a plus.
• Strong communication and coordination skills; safety-conscious and able to work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Review/design transmission line plans and profiles using PLS-CADD.
• Provide structure recommendations and line design details.
• Lead transmission line design for capital projects.
• Plan routing to optimize design, reliability, and ROW usage.
• Coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines and client representatives.
