Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. seeks a Transmission Engineer IV in our Richmond, VA area to serve as the responsible engineer on transmission line projects.

You will lead project teams, mentor junior staff, and coordinate design with construction to meet schedules and budgets. The role requires 8+ years in transmission engineering, PE preferred, and strong proficiency with PLCS-CADD/POLE/TOWER, Excel, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Degreed engineering degree in civil/structural disciplines required.
• 8+ years in transmission engineering; PE preferred where applicable.
• Proficiency with power line modeling tools (PLS-CADD, POLE/TOWER) and Excel.
• Familiarity with industry codes (NESC, ACI, ASCE) and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design and provide technical guidance on transmission projects.
• Monitor construction to ensure conformance with plans, specs, and codes.
• Perform complex analyses and prepare feasibility studies and reports.
