Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking a Transmission Engineer to lead design on projects ranging from 115kV to 500kV, including new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic attachments. You will develop designs, schedules, and construction packages while coordinating environmental and licensing considerations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering, 5+ years of transmission experience, and familiarity with PLSCADD/POLE/TOWER and related tools. PE is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical transmission line design engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) preferred; ability to be certified as soon as eligible.
• Proficiency with Power Line and Structure modeling tools (PLSCADD, POLE, TOWER) and Excel; knowledge of NESC.

Responsibilities

• Design or assist in the design of transmission and distribution line projects.
• Prepare preliminary design and budget estimates for 115kV–500kV projects.
• Develop material lists and structure framing details for various pole materials.
• Coordinate environmental, licensing, and real estate aspects within the design process.
• Monitor construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
