Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transmission Line Senior Project Engineer to lead design teams on major power projects. You will coordinate multi-discipline design work, engage with clients, and act as a technical lead to ensure on-time, code-compliant project delivery on site.

Ideal candidates have a PE license, 10+ years in the Power Market Sector, and proficiency with PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe and Revit, plus strong MS Office skills. This full-time role is based near Glen Allen, VA.

Qualifications

Requires PE license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE license).
Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
Minimum 10 years of experience in the Power Market Sector.
Experience with Power Market Sector project execution is preferred.
Proficiency with PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit.

Responsibilities

Coordinate work of design engineers with a multidiscipline team across project development.
Establish client relations and participate in meetings.
Act as technical lead within a project execution team.
Ensure code compliance in reviews with governing agencies.
Lead schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions on-site.
Coordinate workload to complete project deliverables on schedule.
Work with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews with management.
Direct activities of other engineering professionals and mentor staff as needed.
Perform other duties as needed.
