Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

• Associate's or Bachelor's in Drafting/Design or related field, or equivalent certification.
• Minimum of 4 years of transmission line engineering/design experience utilizing PLS-CADD.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication with internal teams, clients, regulatory agencies, and utility stakeholders.
• Understanding of engineering principles, codes, standards, and practical application.
• Proficiency with engineering and business software tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary scopes, engineering designs, and cost estimates for high-voltage transmission line projects.
• Apply established engineering practices to deliver safe, reliable, and economical solutions.
• Perform technical evaluations and feasibility assessments of existing and proposed facilities.
• Analyze alternatives and recommend effective design approaches for project requirements.
• Support regulatory filings and approvals, including State Corporation Commission processes.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Construction, Supply Chain, Permitting, Routing, Real Estate, Right-of-Way, and Transmission Ops teams.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Design, or a related field, or equivalent certification (Designer positions)
• Minimum of 4 years of transmission line engineering/design experience utilizing PLS-CADD
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while working both independently and collaboratively
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams, clients, regulatory agencies, and utility stakeholders
• Understanding of engineering principles, applicable codes, industry standards, and their practical application

Key Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary scopes, engineering designs, and cost estimates for high-voltage transmission line projects, including new line construction, line rebuilds, system upgrades, fiber optic installations, and customer-driven relocations
• Apply established engineering practices to deliver safe, reliable, and economical transmission line solutions
• Perform technical evaluations and feasibility assessments of existing and proposed transmission facilities
• Analyze alternatives and recommend the most effective and cost-efficient design approach for project requirements
• Support regulatory filings and approvals, including participation in State Corporation Commission processes
• Collaborate closely with Project Management, Construction, Supply Chain, Permitting, Routing, Real Estate, Right-of-Way, and Transmission Operations teams to ensure successful project execution
