Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Orlando, FL is seeking a Senior Transmission Engineer to lead the design of complex transmission line projects. You will oversee technical work, mentor staff, and ensure adherence to codes and client requirements.

Responsibilities include conductor sizing, impedance, calculations, and preparation of equipment data sheets and RFQs. You will coordinate with vendors, field staff, and other disciplines to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• FE exam completed with 7+ years of transmission experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering with 6+ years of transmission experience.
• Expert knowledge of transmission design concepts, codes and related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Prepare equipment specifications, RFQs, and technical bid summaries.
• Lead conductor sizing, impedance, and ground calculations; ensure code compliance.
• Review vendor drawings and coordinate with suppliers, clients, and other disciplines.
• Mentor engineers and lead QA/QC and project budgeting.
