Job summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Transmission Design Engineer to design lines from 69kV through 500kV, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with clients to ensure designs meet specifications.
The role supports hybrid work with three days onsite and two remote days, plus a relocation package for suitable candidates. Candidates should bring ABET accreditation and 15+ years of transmission design experience.
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
- 15+ years of transmission design experience.
- Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
- Experience must include scopes of work, conceptual designs, design basis, equipment/material selection, and calculations/specifications.
- Experience with transmission lines 69kV–500kV.
- Knowledge of NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI standards.
- Experience reviewing design drawings.
Responsibilities
- Design transmission lines from 69kV through 500kV.
- Mentor and train design team members.
- Coordinate design activities to meet specs and client requirements.
- Prepare reports and studies per Sargent & Lundy formats.
- Perform independent reviews of work including calculations and drawings in PLS-CADD.
- Adhere to Sargent & Lundy's System of Processes.
