Job summary

TRC Power Delivery in Madison, WI seeks a Transmission Engineer to design, relocate, and upgrade transmission lines up to 500kV and to attach fiber optics. You will prepare design packages, schedules, and coordinate with project teams to meet construction timelines.

Responsibilities include developing material lists, plan and profile drawings, and ensuring safety and environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical transmission line design engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) preferred; eligible for certification.
• Proficiency with Power Line and Structure modeling software (PLSCADD, POLE, TOWER).
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NESC, ASCE Pole manual, AISC Steel manual).

Responsibilities

• Design or assist in design of transmission and distribution line projects.
• Develop material lists in Excel spreadsheets.
• Develop structure framing details and equipment specifications.
• Coordinate environmental and licensing processes in the design phase.
• Monitor construction to ensure compliance with plans and specs.
