Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking a Transmission Engineering I in Madison, WI, to join the Power Delivery practice. You will work on transmission line projects from line extensions to major additions, under engineers, developing materials, drawings, and construction packages while coordinating schedules and permits.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 0–2 years of experience, and familiarity with transmission design tools. Some travel may be required; salary ranges are provided.

Qualifications

• Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 0–2 years of transmission engineering experience.
• EIT-certified preferred with PE eligibility.
• Experience with Power Line and Structure modeling (PLS-CADD) is preferred.
• Familiarity with NESC and industry standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of material lists in Excel.
• Develop structure framing details and grounding for different pole materials.
• Coordinate with environmental and licensing processes in design.
• Site and assess impacts of real estate, licensing and environmental constraints.
• Read and interpret project schedules and develop plan & profile drawings.
• Prepare complete design packages for construction under supervision.
• Contribute to engineering calculations ensuring safety and performance.
• Assist in coordinating equipment delivery and design to meet schedules.
